A letter from Tom and Allie Greetings to everyone! It continues to be a privilege to serve you, your family and friends over the last 22 years.  There have been many situations that we have had to face: changes in state and federal laws, the economy taking a downward turn, schools cutting back, animal extremist trying to push their agenda backed by millions of dollars of support and of course, it just costs a lot to do what we do. Last winter was one of the coldest winters that we have had with temps down to -29 degrees.  This summer was the hottest summer that we have had with triple digits days one after the other.  Last year our expenses were almost twice as much as we made.  This year will be about the same. Income was down drastically this summer, but our fall was one of our best!  Many new visitors came this year and loved it.  We have added new animals and exhibits. We have a plan of attack to change our situation that we would like to share with you. The tree house is almost done, with only the 4th floor to go.  The concession stand - kitchen for our Creation Camp and restrooms need to be built, and we will be bringing in the kangaroos this spring.  We also want to build a new building that will allow our season to be extended throughout the year.  All of these projects will generate income for the zoo.  It has taken all that we have to keep the zoo going and really is out of our hands. For us to continue it will take help in two area's.  People to join Angels for the Animals and Sponsorship of tree house, concession stand, restrooms and new animal building. Our goal for the next 12 month is to raise $100,000.  On top of these projects that we have to get done, we have buildings that need new roofs, equipment that needs to be repaired and equipment that we must have to operate.  It will take another $100,000 dollars in 2013 to continue all of the things that we must have to stay in business. That seems pretty radical to lay out a plan like this, but we serve a great big GOD!  If we have learned anything over the last 22 years it's this: God is able to do the impossible!   We have seen it time and time again.  One of great things about doing something like this is that it is way bigger than us and when it gets done there is no doubt God did it.   God may speak to 1 person's heart or to 1000.  All we can tell you is we will continue to trust God and believe that he has a plan.
